Activating the CGI Wrapper utility will result in a new folder named:

 

"scgi-bin"  

being created in your accounts "public_html" folder.

 

Any scripts placed in this folder will be run under your own userid. This allows you to alter the default permissions on some scripts to as more secure setting.

 

This is not necessary for the vast majority of CGI scripts. It can sometimes be useful to run CGI scripts with yourself identified as the user.
